"CAN" you do this ...yes... but obviously this would be just for a test and not for developers and not for a company. Maybe at home to play. development is production to the developers. developers have a labor cost to them.
At the very least make sure the oracle homes are on different drives, control files, init.ora/spfiles redo/archive are laid out with some logic. I have always ran into an issue of different version executibles sharing across releases... have to do a few recompiles.
do a hand written OFA layout so you will understand where everything is laid out.
Tell someone that tou can buy a computer today for 400 bucks. that is what to your org 15 seconds of downtime... 1 minute of cost of slow service
